DL boys tennis blanks Perham

The regular season ended on the right note for the Detroit Lakes boys' tennis team with a 7-0 blanking of Perham Thursday.

The Lakers finished with a successful regular season after sharing the Mid-State Conference championship with Staples-Motley.

DL started team Section 8-2A play Tuesday.

"I thought we competed very well," said DL head coach Wade Johnson. "Levi Nordine and Alex Fondrick combined for a very big win at second doubles, too."

The DL duo downed Madison Paridon and Dillon Shields in straight sets 6-0, 6-4.

In fact, all of the Lakers won in straight sets.

In singles action, seniors Jake Hartman and Thieris Galdino won at No. 1 and 2, while freshman Isaac Fondrick and senior Tanner Duncan took their matches by 6-0 straight set wins.

C.J. Hanson and Jesse Meyer won 7-5, 6-4 and Garret Duncan and Derick Brehm combined for a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
