"This is the third week in a row where I saw improvement in the girls' times," said DL head coach Jon Freeman. "That's been a pleasant sign."

Only two DL runners didn't show improvement, but it was due to a pair of ankle injuries, not for the lack of effort or training.

The DL coach credited junior Tess Jasken for having a solid showing with a time of 18:53 to finish in 30th place.

Other Laker varsity finishers included Brita Johnson in 19th with an 18:18 and Kelsy Melgaard in 40th with a 20:31.

"We'll see some of our younger runners in Fergus Falls Sept. 25," he stated. "And we are also hoping our injuries start healing, too."
