The Detroit Lakes Angels made it quick and fleet on the visiting New York Mills Millers Wednesday.

Before even recording the first out in the bottom of the first inning, the Angels had already racked up 13 runs, which ultimately led to a 24-2 pasting of the undermanned Millers.

All nine batters scored in the first inning, then the next four plated runs, before the Millers notched their first out of the frame.

The Angels collected nine hits, along with two New York Mills errors to answer a two-run top of the first for the Millers.

Phil Doll capped the big first with a three-run homer over left-center field.

The bleeding continued into the second inning, as DL pelted out seven more runs on six hits.

A rare occurrence happened with bases loaded and Phil Kirchner lacing a NYM pitch into the right-center gap.

Before the rightfielder even had a chance to relay the throw to his cutoff man, Kirchner was sprinting home -- thus recording an inside the park grand slam.

In the first two innings of play, Jake Kiebke was 3-3 with two RBIs and Kirchner was 2-3 with four RBIs.

Bryan Buhr picked up the win on the mound, with the lone two runs by the Millers being unearned, on two DL errors in the first frame.

The first-place Angels faced Bluffton and Midway Friday and Saturday, respectively.

They close out the regular season in Vergas today (Sunday) at 1:30 p.m.
