DL man injured in snowmobile-car crash
A snowmobile-auto accident sent a Detroit Lakes man to the hospital Monday afternoon.
The Detroit Lakes Police Department received a call at 3:24 p.m. about a snowmobile hit by a vehicle near Highway 34.
Curtis Erickson, 48, Kindred, was westbound in an automobile on Highway 34.
Isaac Funk, 22, Detroit Lakes, was on a snowmobile northbound on Davis Avenue, crossing Highway 34.
Funk failed to yield to Erickson, according to the police report, and was hit and thrown from his 1997 Polaris snowmobile.
He was taken to St. Mary's Regional Health Center, and was transferred to MeritCare in Fargo, where he was treated and released.
His driving status is revoked and a blood test was taken at the hospital for possible DWI charges. The accident remains under investigation.
