DL man sent to prison
A Detroit Lakes man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for first-degree burglary and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Randy Brian Kohler, 39, of 308 Main Ave. W., Detroit Lakes, was also sentenced to lesser prison terms on a half-dozen other offenses, with all times to be served concurrently.
According to court records, Kohler also received 30 months in prison for third-degree felony burglary; 21 months for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime; 60 months on a felony firearms possession charge; 30 months for second-degree burglary and 21 months on a felony check forgery charge.
He also faces restitution requests of more than $20,000, but the judge has not yet ruled on most of those requests.
He was sentenced Friday in Becker County District Court by District Judge Peter Irvine. His time will be served at the state prison in St. Cloud.
