DL man sentenced for altered prescription
Jonathon Lee Jasch Jr., 18, of 30220 Tower Road, Detroit Lakes has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
On April 30, he tried to pass an altered prescription at Kmart for the painkiller Vicodin, changing the number of prescribed tablet from four to 40, according to court records.
He admitted it when questioned by a pharmacy employee and said to rip just it up. He later admitted it to a police investigator as well.
He has three prior drug-related offenses in Clay County, according to court records.
He pleaded guilty Jan. 2 and was sentenced Thursday by District Judge Michael Kirk to 13 months in prison, execution of sentence stayed five years.
He was placed on supervised probation and ordered to serve six months in jail, with work release privileges granted.
He was fined $1,000 plus court fees, and ordered to get a chemical use assessment and follow the recommendations. He must abstain from drugs and alcohol and submit to random testing.
