DL man sentenced for selling drugs
Zachary Daniel Hanebuth, 20, of 17568 E. Howe Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
Four felony counts of simulated controlled substance crime were dismissed in a plea agreement,
According to court records:
On June 4, 2008, Hanbuth sold 3.9 grams of marijuana to a confidential reliable informant working for the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force.
On June 27, 2008, he allegedly sold five fake dosage units of ecstasy to the informant for $120. The yellow heart-shaped tablets tested negative for ecstasy.
On Aug. 7, 2008, he allegedly sold a gram of fake methamphetamine to the informant.
He appeared Feb. 10 before District Judge Peter Irvine, who sentenced him to 13 months in prison, stayed five years.
He was ordered to serve 180 days in jail, with credit for 84 days served. He was fined $1,000 plus $355 in restitution and court fines for a total of $1,442. He was ordered to get a chemical dependency evaluation and follow treatment recommendations.
