DL man sentenced for selling marijuana
Perry Lee Heinonen Sr., 49, of 25371 Brandy Lake Blvd., Detroit Lakes, has been sentenced for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime, sale.
On May 20 agents with the North Central Minnesota Drug Task Force and Becker County deputies executed a search warrant of Heinonen's home. They found 22.5 ounces of marijuana in a cabinet, along with packaging items, a pipe and a small scale. They also found $1,421 in cash, which was identified as drug buy money used by the drug task force.
Heinonen pleaded guilty July 18 and was sentenced Wednesday by District Judge Peter Irvine, who ordered him to serve a year and a day in prison, execution of sentence stayed five years.
He was placed on supervised probation and ordered to serve six months in jail, with work release and STS privileges granted, and fined $1,000 plus court fees.
He must submit to chemical testing and follow all recommendations of a chemical use assessment.
