The bands will be performing quiet a variety of music highlights, outlined below. Included will be marches-both traditional and concert, overtures, slow tunes, popular, and rock selection from the 1960's and 70's, programmatic and original contemporary band compositions.

Leading off the program will be the Sixth Grade Band. The selections include: Honor Guard March; Onward! A piece that offers a blend of contemporary yet regal sound, Arocknophobia, and Windsongs.

Next to perform will be the Seventh Grade Band. Their pieces are: Barnum and Bailey's Favorite, which is the familiar circus theme; Spartanburg Overture; Love and Peace; Slide Show Rag, which will feature the trombone section in a 1920's style of ragtime jazz; and Buenaventura, a hot Latin-Rock presentation.

Closing out the performance is the Eighth Grade Band. They will open up with The Scot's Brigade, based on the Scottish tune Auld Lang Syne but with a unique twist set to a march beat; The Last To Defend; Lady in Water (theme from the movie); Blast From The Past featuring a medley of pop/rock tunes from the 60's and 70's; and Canticle Of The Saints.

All the bands are under the direction of Paul Dierkhising.

As in past performances, there will be something of interest to please any and all tastes in music.

The performance will be given in the George Simson Middle School Auditorium and will begin at 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome and invited to attend. There is no admission charge.
