DL Newspapers' Kotte wins Forum award
Katie Kotte has been honored with a top award at Forum Communications, and has earned a promotion within the newspaper company.
Kotte, who has worked for Detroit Lakes Newspapers in advertising for two years, earned the Pace Setter award for spring 2009. The Pace Setter award was given to three advertising producers, based on Internet sales, in the 23 weekly Forum Communications newspapers, at a company meeting last week.
"Being driven and having management ready and able to help and facilitate," she said, is what has helped her earn the distinction.
Kotte earned her mass communications degree with emphasis in public relations and advertising from Minnesota State University Moorhead, which she said adds to her success at the newspaper.
That success has given her the opportunity to move to the Wadena Pioneer Journal as sales manager, a position she begins Monday.
"It was an unbeatable opportunity to advance within a well established, successful company," she said. "I look forward to building new relationships with clients and growing the business base for that paper and Internet advertisers."
Kotte and her son, Harrison, will be moving to the Wadena area.
