Detroit Lakes' hockey players have been making noise in the recent years.

Tanner Lane has moved on to play in the USHL and now is at Nebraska-Omaha.

Joe Schiller just completed four years at Minnesota State Mankato and is now playing professional hockey in Las Vegas, while Garrett Raboin played four years at St. Cloud State University and pro hockey in Europe and is now with the Huskies as an assistant coach.

This season, the Lakers have put three more players onto the post-high school hockey level in the Jr. A Leagues.

DLHS 2012 graduate Ethan Brekke has moved on to play for another Lakers team, this one in Fort Frances, Ontario.

Brekke will be competing in the SIJHL this season for the Fort Frances Lakers against competition from Ontario and Minnesota.

The former DL Laker was a four-year letter winner and was the team's captain last season.

Derick Brehm and Alex Mason have taken their talents down to Owatonna, where they are playing for the Steele County Blades this season in the MNJHL.

Brehm was a big, bruising defenseman and a three-year letter winner for the Lakers, as well as being an assistant captain. Mason, a fast, hard-hitting forward, was a three-year letter winner for the Lakers, as well as a

captain.

"The biggest thing for the players is they are all top players on their teams and will make significant impacts on their teams this season," said DL head boys' hockey coach Chris Denardo. "Hopefully we will see these boys carry on after Junior hockey onto the college ranks."

On the girls' side of things, Brianna Seebold brought her hockey talents down to Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.

Seebold is the Laker girls' all-time leading scorer and helped her team get to a state tournament last year for the first time in program history. Seebold was also captain of her team.
