DL woman charged with falsely obtaining meds
A Detroit Lakes woman is set to make her first appearance Oct. 21 in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of fifth degree drug possession by fraud.
Christine Rosalyn Tinjum, 26, of 804 Central St. E., Detroit Lakes, is accused of using a doctor’s prescription made out to someone else to fraudulently obtain a large amount of Clonazepam at a Detroit Lakes pharmacy on Aug. 15.
According to court records, the incident was discovered when the mother of the girl to whom the prescription had been issued discovered that it had gone missing, and called the pharmacy to see if there were any refills left on it. The pharmacy reported that the prescription had been filled on Aug. 15.
Tinjum was identified through a surveillance video obtained from the pharmacy on that day; she allegedly said that she had been there to fill her own prescription, but the pharmacy had no record of a prescription in her name being filled that day.
