DL woman involved in single-car accident, ends up in water-filled ditch
A Detroit Lakes woman suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon when she fell nearly asleep and her Toyota ended up in a water-filled ditch.
Hallie Danielle Renner, 19, was eastbound on Eighth Street when she felt herself falling asleep, according to the accident report. The airbags deployed and the 1997 Toyota she was driving swerved off to the left into a ditch that was filled with water and debris. The car was left about a quarter submerged.
She was able to get out and was seen walking to the east. Police searched for about an hour before she was located at home.
She was taken to a clinic by private vehicle to be checked out.
