DNC Chairman Howard Dean to headline Fargo election rally
FARGO - Howard Dean, the Democratic National Committee chairman, will visit Fargo on Nov. 1 to headline a get-out-the-vote rally.
Dean, a 2004 presidential candidate, plans to encourage attendees to vote for Sen. Barack Obama when they cast votes for president during the Nov. 4 general election.
He also plans to urge voters to support Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., for re-election and other Democratic candidates for office, according to a news release issued Friday.
"When the chairman of the national Democratic Party comes to North Dakota three days before Election Day, it's clear that North Dakota is very much in play in the presidential race," David Strauss, Democratic-NPL chairman, said in the release.
The rally is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Fargo Civic Center at 207 4th St. N. Doors will open at noon.
