DNR sets open houses for input on Heartland Trail

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will hold a series of open house meetings to provide information about the future extension of the Heartland State Trail and to obtain public input on the trail proposal.

Comments on potential trail corridors will be solicited at the meetings, as well as input regarding trail uses, surfaces and desired amenities, such as parking lots and rest areas.

Open houses will be from 5-7 p.m. at Detroit Lakes on June 19 in the Detroit Lakes City Hall; Frazee on June 24 in the Frazee Event Center; Wolf Lake on June 25 in the Wolf Lake Lions Hall; Moorhead on July 8 in the Hjemkomst Center; Park Rapids on July 9 in the Northwoods Bank Conference Room.
