Dollars for Scholars awards more than $136,000 to grads
The Detroit Lakes Scholarship Foundation’s “Dollars for Scholars” recently presented $136,250 in scholarships to 140 Detroit Lakes High School graduating seniors.
The Detroit Lakes Scholarship Foundation was started in 1987 to help insure that Detroit Lakes graduating seniors were given help in obtaining a quality post-secondary education in whatever field they desired.
There are three ways to support the mission of Dollars for Scholars. By donating an annual unrestricted gift to the organization, supporting the awarding of a specific scholarship or creating an endowed scholarship. (A donation which will support an annual scholarship through investment earnings.)
Dollars for Scholars committee members include Jerry Tharaldson, Ruth King, Denise Kettner, Glenn Gifford, Brenda Muckenhirn, Wayne Benson, Taunia Suckert, Doreen Richter, Tom Seaworth, Dan Josephson, Bernie Sauer, Mark Hagen and Bob Jernberg.
