Donna M. Hagen, 81, of Detroit Lakes, died Monday, May 6, 2013 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 15 at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, with Reverend Wade Dutton officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, with a 7 p.m. Eastern Star service, at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. The visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Donna Marie Hagen was born to Emil and Grace (Terhark) Griesert on October 12, 1931 in Tracy, Minn. She graduated from Marshall (Minn.) High School in 1949. She moved to Glenwood, Minn., where she worked at the Pope County Court House.
Donna was united in marriage to James Hagen June 19, 1954 in Chicago, Ill. They lived in Moorhead until moving to Detroit Lakes in 1958.
Donna worked for Lake Region Travel Service, Viking Wind, with Judi Quam arranging trips to Belize, for Jerry B's Lounge, and handled the reservations for the Island Girl on Detroit Lake. James died in 1973.
Donna was united in marriage to William Houghton in 1980. He died in 1987. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries and the Eagles.
Donna enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, traveling, helping care for her friends and family get-togethers.
Survivors include her children, Steven (Cyndi) Hagen of Farmington, Minn., Dana (Jimmie) Gulson of Detroit Lakes, Susan (Gregory) Swanstrom of Park Rapids, Daniel (Irene) Hagen of Frazee, Bruce (Kathy) Houghton of Negaunee, Mich., Brad (Carrie) Houghton of Minneapolis, Brian Houghton of Houston, Texas, Janet Houghton of Scottsdale, Ariz., Larry (Linda) Daily of Minneapolis and Jerry (Bonnie) Daily of Moorhead; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Delbert (Bev) Griesert of Albertville, Minn., and Melvin (Bev) Griesert of Healdsburg, Calif.; and one sister, Dorothy (Pat) Rygh of Los Osos, Calif.
In addition to her husbands, James and William, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Dale and a sister, Marie Ogdahl.
