Dorset to host author, art festival Saturday

Dorset’s annual Festival of Authors and Artists is set for this Saturday, June 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be a juried art show outdoors, featuring photography, jewelry, weaving and much more.

Live music will be performed on the boardwalk.

Indoors at Sister Wolf books (35 Minnesota), 35 Minnesota authors will be signing copies of their books and chatting with the public.

Brian Freeaman, author of “The Cold Nowhere,” will give a reading on the bookstore porch at 1:30 p.m.; Julie Kramer, author if “Delivering Death,” will give a reading at the same location at 3:45 p.m.

Shops and restaurants in Dorset ­— also known as “The Restaurant Capital of the World” — will be open as well.

Join the community in a day of celebrating Minnesota creativity.

Dorset is located six miles east of Park Rapids on Highway 34, and one mile north on Highway 226.
