After graduation, Doug served in the U.S. Navy. Upon his discharge, he attended and graduated from North Dakota State University, continued with graduate studies at Moorhead State and continued with his studies in Denver, Colo. He obtained INS, AIC and CPCU designations.

Throughout his career, Doug was employed by GAB Business Services, Great Plains Claims (owner and founder), EMC Insurance Company and Auto Owners Insurance. He was employed as an insurance adjuster, supervisor, and claims manager. In addition he was employed as a legal administrator to a law firm in Denver.

Doug married Roxann Ramberg on November 24, 1990 at St. Anthony's in Fargo. He enjoyed working with wood and building things, and also loved the game of golf, although he admitted he wasn't very good at either. He also enjoyed cleaning and waxing his Corvettes -- he did make those white plastic cars shine.

Doug enjoyed life, loved his family, cherished his friends, and knew how to surround us all with laughter.

Surviving Doug are his best friend and wife, Roxann; sons, Jared (Meredith) Dunn, Eric Cossette and Cole Cossette; two grandchildren, Avery and Brady Dunn; sister, Sharon (Tom) Fowler; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Paul.

Doug would like to be remembered as a loving husband, father, and good friend.
