The Mixed Blood theater group is a professional and multiracial company based in Minneapolis. "Dr. King's Dream," which features Warren C. Bowles in a solo performance, is a celebration of the life and career of Dr. Martin Luther King.

The production is drawn from Dr. King's own letters, sermons, books and speeches, including his I Have a Dream speech.

This powerful biography illuminates why Dr. King is recognized as one of the greatest leaders and orators in American history and why he is honored with a national holiday each January.

The show will be presented in the conference center at M State in Detroit Lakes on Wednesday, Jan. 30, starting at noon.

Additional performances are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 inside M State-Fergus Falls' Legacy Hall; and 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 in the cafeteria at M State-Wadena.

Performances are free and sponsored by the Detroit Lakes and Wadena Student Senates and the CACTUS organization on the Fergus Falls campus.

As a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, M State serves more than 9,200 students in credit courses each year in more than 120 career and liberal arts programs at its four campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena, and through eCampus.

By partnering with communities, the college also provides custom training services and other responsive training programs
