Driver killed in turkey truck crash on Friday morning near Rollag

ROLLAG - The driver of a turkey truck died after the truck left a road near Rollag and rolled "at least 50 feet" down an embankment, Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist said.

Hundreds of turkeys were still loose as of 8 a.m., and officials from a turkey plant in Pelican Rapids were expected to help round up the birds, he said.

The driver's name was not released. He is not from Clay County, Bergquist said.
