DWI charge leads to prison
DETROIT LAKES - Brian Lee Rogers, 35, of 1043 Campbell Ave., Detroit Lakes has been sentenced to 57 months in prison for felony first degree DWI - test refusal and driving after his license was canceled as inimical to public safety, a gross misdemeanor.
He appeared in Becker County District Court Monday.
Two charges, a misdemeanor insurance charge and a felony DWI charge, were dropped in a plea agreement.
He has three prior DWI convictions.
He was stopped by a police officer on Willow Street in Detroit Lakes for driving with a burned out taillight in the early morning hours. He refused to take a breath test and his license had been canceled as inimical to public safety, according to court records.
He was sentenced to 57 months in prison, given credit for time served and ordered to pay a $50 fine plus court fees.
