Vernon Edward "Ed" Bryngelson, 68, of Callaway, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at his residence, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Ed Bryngelson was born to Vernon and Emma "Peg" (Hazelton) Bryngelson on June 12, 1941 in rural Callaway. He attended Detroit Lakes High School and later, agricultural college in Crookston, Minn. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1959, and later served in the National Guard, retiring in 2000. He worked for Bergen's in Detroit Lakes for 49 years
Ed's farm was very special to him, and he loved to entertain people there. He also enjoyed entertaining and visiting with his many friends from all over the world. He loved working in his yard, traveling, fishing, camping, laughing and telling stories.
Surviving Ed are three daughters, Stephanie (Scott Raines) Bryngelson of Detroit Lakes, Michele Nybo of Phoenix, Ariz., and Christina (Gary) Bryngelson Bae of Gilbert, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Anatasia Bryngelson, of Fargo; one brother, Jack (Mary) Bryngelson of Callaway; and loving companion, Brenda Lehmann of Detroit Lakes.
Preceding Ed in death were his parents and one daughter, Jennifer Bryngelson.
A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes. There will be visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
