Elizabeth "Lee" Boelter, 96, of Detroit Lakes, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009.
Lee was born to Dan and Elizabeth (Gerhing) Mayer on Sept. 14, 1912 in McClusky, N.D., where she grew up and received her education. She later married Henry "Hank" Boelter and they moved from McClusky to Jamestown, N.D., and then to Florida. They later moved back to McClusky, where Lee worked for 30 years in the McClusky Bank. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in McClusky.
After retiring, Lee wintered in Arizona. She spent her final years in West Fargo and Detroit Lakes. Lee was an expert bridge player, loved traveling, and was considered by many to be the best cook in North Dakota.
Lee's generous heart and adventurous spirit live on in her son, Gerald (Bertha) Boelter of Detroit Lakes; five granddaughters; eight great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Hank; and nine siblings.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, with visitation for one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Scambler Cemetery in rural Pelican Rapids.
