Embryology Program: Chicks in the classroom
Frazee Elementary School fourth grade students were fascinated with the results of a 3-week Embryology Program that was just completed. Mickey Okeson, Becker County 4-H Program coordinator, partnered with fourth grade teacher, Dustin Geiser, to bring the project into the classroom. The students charted the development of the eggs through the incubation process, experienced the process of candling, and learned about chick care after the hatch. All were excited to discover 32 newly hatched chicks, that arrived precisely on the 21st day of incubation.
