Emmanuel celebrates veterans
A week before Veterans Day, photos of some of the Emmanuel Community resident's service pictures were put on display in a cabinet.
Emmanuel then invited the American Legion to do a program for the residents and the veterans from the entire Emmanuel Community campus, which totaled 38.
The program started out with patriotic music being played while residents entered the chapel, and everyone received a poppy and a small American flag from the Legion.
Everyone joined in together as the "Pledge of Allegiance" was said and the program was turned over to Diane Hayes of the American Legion Auxiliary. Commander Dylon Willie of the American Legion presented each veteran with a certificate with a "Veteran's Poem" by Cheryl Dyson and a "Proud to Be an American" bookmark.
Pictures of each veteran was taken with the commander and a group photo.
