Emmanuel to host volunteer celebration
Emmanuel Community, which includes Emmanuel Nursing Home, The Madison, Lamplighter Manor, Catered Living Services and Emmanuel's new addition The Cottage, will recognize over 200 adult volunteers and over 50 youth volunteers, as well as Corporate Employee Volunteer Partners SJE Rhombus and guests that have appeared on Emmanuel Community's TV3 program Celebrate Aging. The recognition of volunteers will take place during National Volunteer Week April 27-May 3.
On April 30 from 4-6 p.m. Emmanuel Community will honor volunteers who have given over 8,000 hours of service.
The volunteers have a wide variety of gifts and talents, which they bring to the Emmanuel Family.
"Their dedication and commitment to enhancing the life of those they serve is truly commendable," said Christine Burnside, director of community development. "We are thankful to have such a group who helps each other as well as employees carry out Emmanuel Community's mission daily."
The celebration will be a social gathering from 4-6 p.m. at the Speak Easy.
A collective arrangement of the year in review will be presented to volunteers along with appetizers, dessert, prizes and gift.
