Lake Park-Audubon High School music department presents the 2008 Pops Concert "We Will Rock You" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4 in the gymnasium. It will feature the senior high choir, junior high choir, Raider Pop Group, jazz band and select solos. Admission is free.

Washington Square Mall will host a special "Splash for Cash" event in conjunction with Polar Fest on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Participants will be asked to jump into an ice-cold wading pool to collect "mall cash," at 10 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. Come watch the fun.

The Native Harvest Slow Food Dinner & Annie Humphrey Concert will be held at the Historic Holmes Theatre on Thursday, Feb. 7. The dinner, which includes Native Harvest's signature wild rice, heritage turkey (raised by Lori and Jim Gellings of rural Zerkel), winter greens salad, carmelized baked apple and more, starts at 6 p.m. American Indian singer/songwriter Annie Humphrey performs at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for the dinner and concert,or $15 for the concert alone. The Lakes Area Community Concert Band rehearses from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 in the Detroit Lakes Senior High band room. Use the southwest doors. Doors open by 6:30 p.m. Gene Gaffney will direct. Anyone interested in playing with the band is welcome. Openings in all sections, especially percussion. A new exhibit, "African Americans in World War II," opened Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham. This exhibit contains 40 framed photographs and labels with additional comments regarding the effort of the black soldier and military personnel, and continues through Feb. 29. The ITOW Veterans Museum is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for students. Veterans are admitted free of charge.
