'The Uninvited'

The Detroit Lakes Public Schools Department of Performing Arts presents "The Uninvited" at 7:30 p.m. in the George Simson Auditorium at Detroit Lakes Middle School. Detroit Lakes students are bringing to life a classic ghost story about brother and sister, Roddy and Pam Fitzgerald, who move to a rundown house and soon discover it is inhabited by a ghost. Tickets are available at Central Market in Detroit Lakes, or at the door.

Jason Aldean concert

Rising country star Jason Aldean, who has jumped to the top of Billboard's charts this year with his new CD, "Relentless," will perform one show at Mahnomen's Shooting Star Casino Hotel & Event Center at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the casino or by calling 800-313-7469.

Savoca & Heitzmann

Vocalist Karen Savoca and guitarist Pete Heitzmann will perform at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center at 7:30 p.m. The duo has performed on the "Today Show," "Prairie Home Companion," "Mountain Stage," "Big Top Chatauqua" and the Vancouver and Edmonton (Canada) folk music festivals. Spring choral concert

The Minnesota State Community and Technical College-Fergus Falls music department will present a Spring Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the MSCTC Legacy Hall. The Spring Choral Concert will feature the MSCTC Concert Choir, Voice Ensemble, and Chamber Chorale. The general admission ticket prices are $8 in advance, $10 at the door for adults, and $6 in advance, $7 at the door for youth 18 and under. Children five and under are free. Barbershop chorus

The Lakes Area Barbershop Chorus performs "Love is in the Air" at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the Historic Holmes Theatre. Tickets are $7.50 for adults and children and students are admitted free.

'Style of Another Time'

Country Aires presents "Style of Another Time," featuring dress styles since 1865, at 1:30 p.m. in the Cormorant Community Center. Tickets are available at 218-532-2958 or at the door.

Old time dance

The Old Timers Dance Club sponsors an old time dance from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Rockin' Horse Cafe in Richville.

DLHS Jazz Band concert

The Detroit Lakes High School Jazz Band's Spring concert is at 4 p.m. in the Historic Holmes Theatre. Please note this is a change in date and venue and there will no longer be a concert on May 19. Come and enjoy some great pieces like "Sing, Sing, Sing," "Brass Machine" and "In the Stone."

Museum telethon

The Friends of the History Museum of East Otter Tail County will hold a telethon fundraiser on Sunday, April 27 from 5-9 p.m. to help raise money for the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham. The museum, which opened in 2006, features exhibits that tell the stories of area veterans -- "In Their Own Words." The Telethon, which will be broadcast by Arvig Communication Systems on LocalLINC (Channel 14 on local cable channels), will feature plans for the new exhibits as well as provide a behind-the-scenes look at what has made the ITOW Veterans Museum so successful.

'Intro to eBay'

Everyone is invited to learn how to buy and sell on eBay, the world's largest online marketplace. The Detroit Lakes Public Library hosts an "Intro to eBay" class from 10-11:30 a.m. This beginning course will teach participants how to set up an eBay account, search for, bid on and purchase items and list items for sale. Pick up tips on how to use eBay and safely shop online. All you need to attend the class are basic computer skills, knowledge of the Internet and an email address. Class size is limited; please call Detroit Lakes Library at 847-2168 or stop in to pre-register.

End of life play,

discussion

St. Mary's Innovis Health Ethics Committee hosts a special presentation to address and help answer questions that surround death and dying. It is at 2 and 7 p.m. in the Holmes Theatre, DL. The presentation will include three vignettes, panel discussions and a time for question and answer session. Transportation needs for the 2 p.m. performance by addressed at St. Mary's Innovis Health Pastoral Care at 847-5611, ext. 1109.

Health, Leisure Expo

The Lake Park-Audubon Community Education department presents "Lakes Area Health & Leisure Expo" (formerly "Senior Citizen Expo") from 4-7 p.m. There will be free informational booths, health screenings shopping opportunities from local area vendors and so much more. This year will feature German Cuisine and entertainment. It will be held in the north gym at the elementary school in Audubon.
