Come to the Detroit Lakes Community & Cultural Center in Detroit Lakes for Family Fun Sunday, from 1-4 p.m. today. Check out the giant slide and climbing wall in the gym or swim in the pool with Hank the Hound. Family Fun Sunday is free for DLCCC members and there is a special day pass rate of $3 for students and $5 for adults for non-members.

The Northern Minnesota Square Dancers host a benefit dance for the American Heart Association from 2 to 5 p.m. today in the Waubun Community Center. There will be a silent auction during the dance. Everyone is welcome to come and bid on items, with all proceeds going to the American Heart Association.

Last Sunday at the Library presents "A Visual Last Sunday" at 2 p.m. today in the Detroit Lakes Public Library. Librarian Mary Haney will show a DVD featuring photographs of Greece and Turkey taken by Detroit Lakes area residents last fall. Refreshments will include baba ganoush and hummus. Come try something new! The program is free and open to everyone.

The Frazee Event Center hosts Ladies Night Out from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4. There is no admission and food is available. Come for home-based parties, crafts and more.

All area singers (adult and youth ages 5 and up) are invited to perform with Nashville singer/songwriter John Mc-Andrew on Sunday, April 6, at 2 p.m. in the Historic Holmes Theatre. A rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. in the theatre to learn a few songs and meet John. Tickets for the show are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Trinity Lutheran Church has paintings by Steve Streed on display through April 5. There are prints of the nature and landscapes paintings available for sale also. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5p.m. Monday-Friday and 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sundays. For more info, call 847-7211.

Frazee-Vergas Community Education offers a three-night class on stained glass beginning Monday, March 31, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Participants will learn the techniques of cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering. Cost is $85 per person, which includes all the supplies needed to complete a 12-by-12-inch panel plus use of the tools. Instructor is Becky Mitchell and the class will be held in the Frazee High School art room. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required by calling the Community Education office at 334-2525.

The 41st annual Hawley Art Show & Sale is scheduled to take place April 4-6 at the Hawley Community Center. Artists can enter their work on Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30, from 1-5 p.m. Registration fees are $5 per entry for professional and amateur classes and $3 for elementary and high school students, with a limit of three works per artist.
