Essentia’s Brinkman gets leadership award
Senior Administrative Leader Christy Brinkman, who works at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes, has just been awarded the 2014 Kal Michels Outstanding Leadership Award from Aging Services of Minnesota. It’s among the highest honors for the state’s aging services professionals.
“At Essentia St. Mary’s, we are highly intentional in our daily leadership work. We recognize and focus on what’s going right, and we fuel the passion of our caregivers,” Brinkman said. “I’m proud, honored and humbled to lead such as amazing team. Thank you for making our work in aging services not a job, but a calling.”
Brinkman joined Essentia Health-St. Mary’s in 1999. She serves as administrator for Oak Crossing, which includes a 23-bed transitional care unit and three long-term care neighborhoods. She also is responsible for senior housing and assisted living as well as a variety of hospital- and clinic-based services.
“Christy treats her work as not just a job, but a calling. She cares deeply about our patients and residents, the community we serve, and the staff that she works with throughout the organization,” said St. Mary President Peter Jacobson.
