Ethel J. Nassett Bryant, 84, of Tomah, Wis., died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Tomah Memorial Hospital in Tomah.
Ethel was born to Knudt and Josephine (Miller) Nassett on July 5, 1926 in Becker County. She was united in marriage to Jack Bryant on January 14, 1950 in Denver, Colo.
Ethel attended the St. Luke's School of Nursing in Duluth, Minn. She worked in numerous areas in the nursing profession. She worked for the Detroit Lakes Clinic until 1964, when she then took a nursing job at the Tomah Department of Veterans Affairs. She worked at the VA for 11 years, until her retirement in 1991.
Ethel was a very caring person who helped countless individuals during her nursing career.
Surviving Ethel are her children, Patrick Bryant of Bailys Harbor, Minn., and Michael Bryant of Tomah; grandchildren, Jeffery Reek of Fargo, Sarah (Charlie) Diamond of Knoxville, Tenn., Amy Bryant of Tomah, Amber (Brad) Olson of Detroit Lakes and Casey Bryant of Breezy Point, Minn.; four great grandchildren; a sister Marion Dwyer; and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jack; five sisters; four brothers; and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
A memorial service is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 5 at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah, with Pastor Bob Streeter officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
A graveside committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, in the Egelund Lutheran Cemetery in rural Detroit Lakes.
