Event for seniors June 24 in Frazee
Senior citizens in the area have a great opportunity to connect with a lot of resources on Thursday, June 24 at the second annual "Super Thursday."
The day's programming is being coordinated by Frazee-Vergas Community Education, the Frazee Care Center, Neighbor to Neighbor, MAHUBE, and United Community Bank and will be held at Frazee Care Center (FCC).
Beginning at 8:45 a.m., participants will have time to register and socialize. FCC Administrator Austin Blilie will kick off the day's sessions with a presentation on "Me and My Medicare." Bring your questions to get helpful insights from Austin and his staff.
"Here to Help" will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature Neighbor to Neighbor's new staff members Bonnie Julius and Sandy Oelfke and MAHUBE's Senior Programs Coordinator Karen Lenius. Both of these organizations have activities and services that provide not only assistance but entertainment and enrichment.
The 11 a.m. program is entitled "Safeguarding Your Life Against Fraud" and will be conducted by United Community Bank staff Ryan Rustad and Angie Lehmann. You'll want to make note of Ryan and Angie's information regarding steps you can take to maintain privacy and discourage fraud from affecting your life.
Lunch will be provided from 12 noon-1 p.m.
FCC's rehabilitation therapy staff will take charge of the program at 1 p.m. with "Staying in Motion." Find out how simple daily activities will benefit your well-being in the years to come.
Cost for Super Thursday is $10, which includes all sessions, meals and refreshments. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required for planning purposes. Call 334-2525 for more information or to register.
