Everyone OK after New York Mills house burns
No one was hurt in a house fire in New York Mills Wednesday morning, according to Fire Chief Reed Jacobson.
Jacobson said two people were in the home, but one had left before the fire broke out. A second person was helped from the home by firefighters, but did not suffer injuries or severe smoke inhalation.
The home, at 121 Broadway Ave. N., was a complete loss, the chief said.
Two brothers, Logyn and Jesse Saewert were home at the time.
"I woke up and my room was black," Logyn said.
His brother Jesse had escaped the house and called 911.
The Perham Fire Department, New York Mills Police Department and Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office assisted on the scene.
