Excelsior Trio at Holmes Tuesday
Excelsior! Trio, part of the Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, will be performing at the Historic Holmes Theatre on Tuesday, March 19, at 7:00 p.m.
This is the second concert in the Holmes Theatre’s classical music series.
This performance is part of the BTD Community Connections series and is funded, in part, by the Edwin A. and Clara Forsyth Engebretson Family Fund.
Tickets are $10 for adults and FREE for students, and can be purchased online at www.dlccc.org, by calling 218-844-7469, or by visiting our Box Office at 806 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes.
Although Excelsior! Trio was officially formed in 2009, Deb Harris (flute), Russ Peterson (alto saxophone), and Jay Hershberger (piano), members of the music faculty at Concordia College in Moorhead, have been performing together on and off since 2001.
Early on they discovered a deep appreciation for each other’s’ musical styles, technique, and artistic personalities and decided to form the professional ensemble.
From Los Angeles and Cleveland, to Minneapolis and Athens, Georgia, audiences have enthusiastically responded to the high-energy music making of Excelsior! Trio, an eclectic mix of classical, jazz, folk and contemporary chamber music presented by the unique combination of flute, saxophone and piano.
