Experience fall with visit to a MN farm
Thousands of Minnesota students and parents will take a break from classes and routines next week for the annual Minnesota Education Association conference.
It’s an opportunity for Minnesota families to enjoy fall on the farm and the popular Minnesota Grown Directory is a great resource to help families plan a farm visit.
The directory highlights many family friendly activities to keep children, and parents, entertained. From apple orchards to farm tours to wagon rides, it’s the perfect time to get out and go local.
“Visiting a farm is a great way to experience fall in Minnesota and there are activities for all ages,” says Jessica Miles, spokesperson for the Minnesota Grown Program.
Miles says the Minnesota Grown Directory lists hundreds of farms statewide that offer fall activities. For example:
- Visit an apple orchard to pick up some fresh apples. There are more than 100 orchards in the Minnesota Grown Directory.
- Pick the perfect pumpkin at a local pumpkin patch. There are 140 pumpkin patches listed in the directory.
- Try your luck navigating a corn maze at one of the 22 Minnesota farms with corn mazes.
