Extension office offers many services

The fact that feedlot producers rely on corn as a main component of their cattle diets is not news to anybody.

However, those days of $2/bushel corn may be long gone. Instead we will assume a likely scenario of corn prices in the range of $3.50-$4/bushel for the near future, and attempt to devise some viable alternatives to replace part of this key ingredient in feedlot diets.

Extension educators receive national Friend of Conservation award

The National Association of Conservation Districts presented the Friend of Conservation award to Kim Boyce, Lisa Hinz and the University of Minnesota Extension at the 2008 Conservation Awards Ceremony in New Orleans on Feb. 3, 2009.

U of M announces 2009 Beef Cow/Calf Days

The University of Minnesota will conduct 2009 Beef Cow/Calf Days Feb. 9 through Feb. 20 in 10 locations around the state. Presented by the University of Minnesota Extension Beef Team, the program is designed to provide beef producers with current information about new technologies and issues facing the industry.
