Schlitt is touring in the area, and offered to make this special appearance in Detroit Lakes as a fundraiser for the Refuge Christian Outreach Center, which is co-sponsoring the concert along with United Team International.

Widely regarded as pioneers of contemporary Christian rock, Petra was nominated for 13 Grammy Awards and released 20 studio albums during its tenure, which began in 1972 and continued until the group formally broke up in 2006 following a farewell tour.

Schlitt has also had a successful solo career that includes performances all over the world, and is an inductee into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame (as Petra's lead singer). His career as a member of Petra and as a solo artist has included multiple gold records, Grammys and Dove awards.

Tickets for Friday's show are $8 in advance or $10 in advance for adults, and $5 for students, and may be purchased at the Holmes Theatre Box Office (806 Summit Ave.) or The Refuge (921 SE 8th St.) in Detroit Lakes. For more information, call 218-847-1982.
