Fargo drug informant charged with bringing drugs to sting operation
FARGO – And they say bringing dessert to a party without checking with the host is a faux pas.
A woman here is facing felony drug charges after agreeing to work as a confidential informant with the Cass County Drug Task Force, then allegedly bringing her own drugs to the controlled buy they arranged.
The woman was charged Wednesday in Cass County District Court with one count each of possession of heroin, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, all Class C felonies.
She is named in the criminal complaint, but The Forum is declining to identify the informant because it could endanger her.
Court documents say she was working as a confidential informant for the task force Tuesday, expected to be the buyer in a sting. Before the operation, officers searched her vehicle as part of their usual procedure.
Authorities alleged in court records the search turned up heroin, methamphetamine, 20 pieces of tin foil with burnt residue and burn marks, four hollow pen tubes, some of which were melted on one end, three pieces of paper folded into drug sale packages called bindles, two cut straws, a bobby pin with burnt residue and six patient ID wristbands.
She was arrested and arraigned this morning in Cass County District Court. Her bail is set at $500.
