Fargo man arrested in assault at Sanford hospital ER
FARGO - A Fargo man was arrested after he allegedly hit, knocked down and kicked another man in the face early Sunday in the emergency room at Sanford Hospital, a police spokesman said.
However, the unnamed victim may also face charges in an incident that occurred later at the hospital, Sgt. Jim Kringlie said.
John Eugene Hedine, 33, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault after the first incident, which occurred about 2:39 a.m., Kringlie said.
The victim was then treated at the hospital for his head injury.
About 5:07 a.m., Kringlie said the assault victim became disruptive and was being moved when he allegedly spit in a security officer's face.
Kringlie said the man may be charged later with disorderly conduct.
The man had to remain at the hospital to be treated for his head injury, and because his alcohol level was too high to take him to jail, Kringlie said.
Hedine was still in the Cass County Jail late Sunday, a jail spokesman said.
