FARGO - A 20-year-old Fargo man pleaded not guilty Thursday to a charge that he helped rob a Taco Bell restaurant Jan. 13.

Michael Vincent Wanzek entered the plea during an appearance in Cass County District Court.

He is accused of agreeing with one or more persons to rob the restaurant at 1001 1st Ave. N.

According to court documents, Wanzek, who was an employee of the restaurant at the time of the robbery, told another worker the day before the crime that the business was going to be robbed.

He said he needed money to fix his girlfriend's van, according to the documents.

In the robbery, two men wearing caps and bandanas entered the business brandishing a gun and demanding money.

They fled with money after Wanzek opened a safe.

Another Fargo man, Anthony Goodoien, is charged with conspiracy in connection with the robbery.

Wanzek is free on bond pending future court proceedings.
