Fargo man watches thief drive off with his Toyot
FARGO - A man whose Toyota Camry was warming up this morning walked outside to go to work and saw a teenage boy driving off with the vehicle, Fargo police Sgt. Jeff Skuza said.
The theft was reported at 6:27 a.m. in the 3500 block of 28th Avenue South.
The silver four-door Camry has a rear spoiler and Minnesota license plates MWS 902, Skuza said.
Skuza reminded residents that it's a violation of city ordinance to leave a vehicle unattended if it's not locked. Violators face a $20 fine.
Vehicle thefts in Fargo were up last year after dropping in 2007. The city had 177 vehicle thefts through Dec. 22, com-pared to 130 in all of 2007 and 193 in 2006.
Some vehicles stolen in recent weeks were hot-wired, Skuza said.
