Fargo radio station Y94 bans music by Chris Brown
FARGO - Starting Thursday, the local top-40 radio station Y94 - WDAY-FM 93.7 - will no longer play songs by Chris Brown, the R&B singer who was arrested Sunday and charged with making criminal threats.
The station sent out a news release Wednesday afternoon saying that air play of Brown songs like "Kiss Kiss" and "Run It" has been suspended because of listener criticism of the singer. A poll on the station's Web site had 92 percent favoring the move.
Brown's catalog could return to Y94, depending on how the case unfolds, according to the release. Brown's arrest is reportedly in connection to a fight with his girlfriend, fellow pop singer Rihanna.
