Few spots remain at Perpich Arts High School
The Perpich Center for Arts Education Arts High School is now accepting second-round applications for admission.
A limited number of openings remain for incoming juniors in Dance, Theater, Visual Arts, and Literary Arts. The Music program has openings for voice, piano, orchestral strings, woodwinds, and brass only. Media Arts is full.
Applications are due April 24, and are available online at www.pcae.k12.mn.us or by calling the Perpich Center at (800) 657-3515, or (763) 591-4710. Tenth grade students with a strong interest in performing or visual arts are encouraged to apply.
Students who have already applied for admission in 2009, may not reapply.
The Arts High School is a comprehensive public high school for 11th and 12th grade students. Tuition-free, it provides a rigorous academic program, along with intensive coursework focused in the arts.
The school occupies a 30-acre campus in Golden Valley, west of Minneapolis. About 300 students from across the state are enrolled, about half of them from greater Minnesota. A supervised residential facility serves students who live beyond commuting distance.
The Perpich Center is an agency of the State of Minnesota. In addition to operating a tuition-free arts high school, the Center serves students and communities throughout the state of Minnesota by providing outreach services that help educators improve student achievement.
