Fire destroys Wolf Lake home, two outbuildings

A Wolf Lake home was destroyed by fire on Saturday.

The Wolf Lake Fire Department, with mutual aid from Carsonville firefighters, responded to the fire at the house and two outbuildings property owned by Todd Nelson, about a mile and a half north of Wolf Lake.

Wolf Lake Fire Chief Dale Hillukka told KDLM News that a passerby reported the fire about 6 p.m., and when firefighters arrived the three structures were already engulfed in flames.

The fire is believed to have started in a 12-foot by 16-foot home and spread via the grass to a pair of 5-foot by 5-foot sheds.

KDLM reported that Nelson lost all possessions and all three buildings were totaled.

Hillukka said the exact cause was unknown but they believe it could have been an electrical fire. No foul play is suspected and no one was injured. Firefighters were on the scene for about two and a half hours.
