Firefighters extinguish Fargo apartment blaze
FARGO - Firefighters responded to a fire just after 5 p.m. Saturday in a Fargo apartment building.
The blaze started in a first-level apartment at 202 6th Ave. N.
The tenant was not home at the time of the fire but will be displaced, said Assistant Fire Chief Larry Schuh.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, and second- and third-floor residents were allowed back inside, he said.
The fire was contained to a small area in the living room, but the apartment received moderate fire and smoke damage, Schuh said.
The hallway and other first-floor apartments also received light smoke damage. Damage is estimated at $13,000.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
