Five injured in crash near Roy Lake

Five people were injured, including several children and an infant, in a rear-end accident Sunday evening that caused a van to roll over on Highway 200 near Roy Lake.

According to the State Patrol, the accident occurred when a 1997 Chevy Astro Van, traveling east on Highway 200, rear-ended a 1988 Ford pickup trick. The van entered the south ditch and rolled.

The van was driven by Elbert W. White, 25 of Bemidji, who suffered no apparent injuries.

Several passengers in the van were hurt, however: Taria R. White, 22, of Bemidji was treated and released; Angelique E. White, an infant, suffered non life-threatening injuries; Eldon W. Cloud, 14, of Bemidji suffered minor injuries. A 4-year-old in the van, Elise White, was not injured.

The driver of the pickup truck was Mary A. Gagnon, 34, of Mahnomen. She suffered minor injuries. A passenger, Hayley J. Gagnon, 10, also suffered minor injuries.

The accident was reported at 8:51 p.m. on dry blacktop in Mahnomen County.
