Flea market - Artisan Fair added on Saturdays this year
Looking for the perfect treasure or collectible? Something vintage, nostalgic or just plain different? Look no more. The Shady Hollow Flea Market may just have what you’ve been looking for.
Shady Hollow, located on Highway 59 south, opens Memorial weekend and is open for shopping every Sunday throughout the summer. They are also open July 4 weekend and Labor Day weekend.
In between shopping sprees, take a break at the grill for coffee, a mini-donut, breakfast, lunch, onion rings or grab a bag of cinnamon roasted almonds or kettle corn while you walk.
New this summer will be ice cream sundaes and floats.
Also new for this year, Shady Hollow Flea Market will offer a venue on Saturdays from July 13-Aug. 24 strictly for artisans.
It’s a market, or fair, for those who have anything handmade that they would like to sell.
Shady Hollow grounds were extended after the summer of 2012 on the north end, giving it access off of County 17. That area will be used for the Artisan Fair and called the “Shady Hill.” The grounds are all grass, no dusty roads and are more secluded and conducive for the arts and crafts crowd.
The artisan’s fair is run in the same manner as the flea market. Spaces are offered on a first come, first served basis at $25 per 10x10-foot space. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
Artisans can set up on Fridays starting at 3 p.m. or on Saturdays starting at 7 a.m.
A food and beverage concession will operate during fair hours.
There is no admission fee for shoppers and parking is free.
