Former Detroit Lakes resident Florence E. Iverson, 91, of St. Louis, Mo., died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Delmar Gardens South in St. Louis.
Florence Elaine Iverson was born to Nels and Agnes (Johnson) Johnson on August 26, 1920 in Detroit Lakes. She attended District 99 Country School in rural Audubon. Florence was united in marriage to Ernest Iverson. They made their home in rural Audubon. She raised their children and also helped Ernest on the family farm. She later worked at the Swift Turkey Plant in Detroit Lakes for a few years before retiring.
Florence had resided in St. Louis for the past twenty years to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Sharon) Iverson and Gerald (Marlys) Iverson, both of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Scott (Jenny) Iverson, David (Elizabeth) Iverson, Denise (Chris) Tremble, Jennifer Iverson, Lance (Shannon) Iverson, Brent (Marlo) Iverson and Bradley (Amie) Iverson; six great grandchildren; one sister, Leona Arneson of Audubon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ernest; and two brothers, Ed and Marvin Johnson.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Audubon, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation took place from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 at the church.
