The exhibit "Warrior to Citizen: Stories of Minnesota's Most Recent Veterans" ends today (Sunday) at the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham. The oral history exhibit is part of the Warrior to Citizen Campaign, organized by the University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute's Center for Democracy and Citizenship, a grassroots effort to provide enduring support to Minnesota's returning veterans and their families. The Boys & Girls Club of Detroit Lakes will host its 10th Annual Big Bash fund-raiser at the Historic Holmes Theatre Ballroom on Friday, March 20, starting with a 6 p.m. social hour featuring catering by Convent on Reeves. The program begins at 7 p.m., with a live auction to follow at 8:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Showtyme DJ. Roseneath Theatre of Toronto, Canada, presents the beautiful children's tale of "Spirit Horse" live at the Historic Holmes Theatre on Thursday, March 26. This story traces two children and their widowed father trying to hide a wild, white, "spirit" horse in their Calgary apartment. A gift from their grandfather, the Spirit Horse teaches the family to hope again by reconciling "the old ways" of their ancient heritage with their new modern life. The sixth annual Sharing the Tradition of Storytelling event is set for Friday, March 27, in the Frazee Event Center. Participants this year include storytellers Patricia Nunn, Michael Cotter, JoAnne Lower and John Peterson. The event begins at 7 p.m. and refreshments will be served. It's that sweet time of year again! Come and join the community of Vergas for the 10th Annual Maple Syrup Festival. In the 1980s, Kevin Bacon stepped onto the big screen in a pair of worn out jeans and a t-shirt and danced his way into the hearts of women and teenage girls in a movie called "Footloose." Now, "Footloose the Musical" is back for a 10th Anniversary Tour stop at the Fargodome or one performance only on Wednesday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, priced from $26.50 to $46.50, went on sale this week at the Fargodome Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets including Discontent, Cash Wise and NDSU Memorial Union, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 800-745-3000.  Discounts are available for groups of 20 or more by calling 701-298-2630.

The Vietnam Traveling Wall is coming to the Chas. D. Center Post 3289 in New York Mills from June 3-8. Local VFWs are accepting donations for this event to happen.
